Orbis and IPOSC Join Forces for Cybersight Relaunch
August 8, 2014
Orbis and the International Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Council (IPOSC), a Council of National and Supranational organizations dedicated to preserving and restoring eye health globally, are joining forces to utilize Cybersight, the web-based telehealth platform, to provide quality child eye care by strengthening the skills and knowledge of pediatric practitioners around the world.
Orbis, Cybersight and IPOSC are committed to facilitating a cooperative teaching effort among the global community of practitioners by encouraging partner organizations to participate in Cybersight’s free consultation teaching program. This feature of the platform allows eye care providers to submit general or patient care-specific questions for advice from world-renowned experts.
The formal initiation of this new joint venture between Orbis, Cybersight and IPOSC is expected to coincide with the launch of an upgraded version of Cybersight in late summer 2014. Cybersight’s new platform includes enhancements such as multi-language support, easy access from mobile devices and increased speed and reliability, especially throughout the developing world. There will also be exciting new social media features enabling users to follow a broad range of interesting cases from a particular mentor or subspecialty.
