Looking Ahead in 2026: What Your Support Makes Possible

Every year, Orbis looks ahead with ambition—and with gratitude. Thanks to the unwavering support of our donors and partners, 2026 will be a year of expanded reach and greater innovation in eye care. Together, we are building a future where more people can access quality eye care.

Together, in 2026 we are planning to deliver:

These ambitious goals reflect what’s possible thanks to the dedication and generosity of our supporters and partners.

Expanding Access Through Innovation and Training

Thanks to the generosity of Orbis supporters, technology is helping more people get the care they need in time for treatment. In 2026, your support will enable Orbis to screen 50,000 patients using Cybersight AI for early signs of diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma—conditions that are often treatable when detected early.

In many communities, where specialist care is limited, AI‑supported screening helps identify those most at risk and connect them to care sooner. Cybersight AI can detect eye diseases in seconds without the need to send scans off to primary hospitals for expert opinions. It means those who need treatment can access it right away, rather than wait weeks or months for a referral.

How we're using AI in screenings to detect and diagnose diabetic retinopathy early.

Building on the 32,000 people screened in 2025, this expansion represents a vital step toward earlier detection, more efficient use of resources, and better outcomes for patients and communities. We are also expanding our online learning opportunities to better serve eye care teams worldwide.

By introducing courses in French and Arabic, we will reach more professionals across Francophone Africa and the Middle East—supporting local expertise and improving access to quality eye care where it’s needed most.

Alongside this, Orbis plans to deliver 45 essential sight‑saving training projects—five more than last year—continuing our commitment to improve the quality of care available to families around the world.

None of This Happens Without You

As we look ahead to 2026 and our shared ambitious goals, we are deeply grateful to everyone who stands with Orbis and for your ongoing commitment.
