Flying Eye Hospital Welcomed Across Jetex’s Global Destinations

This week, the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital has been in Dubai, welcoming local media, partners, and other guests for exclusive tours, raising awareness of avoidable vision loss and how Orbis is helping more people access sight-saving care around the world.

We are deeply grateful to Jetex for generously welcoming us and our partners at their private VIP terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport. Jetex has kindly provided handling for the aircraft and use of their facilities and services free of charge. Their support has ensured that our team could host over 150 guests this week in an extraordinary setting.

Jetex is a global aviation leader known for providing exceptional private terminals (FBOs), aircraft fueling, and ground handling at nearly 40 locations worldwide.

Their generosity in Dubai marks the beginning of an ongoing collaboration with Orbis. Jetex has now extended the warm welcome we’ve had this week to any future visit to Dubai or any other city where Jetex operates around the world, offering to waive all FBO and ground handling charges for the Flying Eye Hospital.

We are deeply grateful to Jetex for opening their global network to Orbis. Their support means more than just logistics—the resources we save through Jetex’s generosity allows us to reach more patients, train more eye care teams, and bring hope to more communities where sight-saving care is urgently needed,” said Bruce Johnson, Director of Aircraft Operations and Maintenance

Because of its strategic location between Asia and Africa, Dubai is an ideal logistics hub for Orbis. We frequently return when we need to park, refuel, maintain our aircraft, and to ship and restock critical medical supplies and aircraft parts between sight-saving projects.

Orbis could not have hosted our awareness-raising tour during our latest stopover in Dubai without the collaboration of partners like Jetex. Their generosity has helped us strengthen relationships, share our mission with new supporters, and prepare for the Flying Eye Hospital’s next training project in Accra, Ghana.

On behalf of everyone at Orbis, thank you to Jetex for your support in improving access to eye care around the world.
