Our team welcomed partners, supporters, and media on board for exclusive tours of the world’s only fully accredited ophthalmic teaching hospital on board an aircraft. The tours offered a rare opportunity to step inside this unique plane, see the state-of-the-art operating room, classroom, and recovery area, and hear directly from Orbis staff about our work to improve access to eye care around the world.
Kristin Taylor, Vice President, Global Communications & Marketing, explained:
"What always amazes me during our tours is how profoundly the experience touches people. They may arrive at the airport carrying the weight of their day, but the moment they step onto the plane, something shifts. You can see it in their posture as their shoulders relax or as their eyes light up with fascination. By the time they leave, they’re smiling, inspired, and transformed.”
Kristin continued, “That’s why these tours are so vital. They’re more than just visits—they’re powerful moments of connection to the work we do and the lives we help transform. By opening the doors to our mission, these experiences inspire new champions, deepen existing partnerships, and play a critical role in building the support we need to expand access to sight-saving care around the world."
