We are incredibly grateful to all those who made our Gala possible. With over 200 attendees, the evening was a celebration of the incredible impact Orbis supporters and partners make each year.

Orbis Gala 2024: over 200 attend in support of improved access to eye care
Thank you to everyone who attended our 2024 Gala on October 17, 2024, at the Intercontinental New York Barclays. Thanks to your support — and the Orbis community — we are improving access to eye care around the world.
The night began with a welcome cocktail hour where we explored the impact of improving access to eye care through storytelling and hands-on activity booths. During the dinner program, our three speakers—Gabrielle Lanouette Cybersight Learning Engineer, Angel García Project Manager for Latin America & the Caribbean, and via video Dr. Divya Natarajan Orbis Volunteer Faculty—shared their experiences saving sight with Orbis.
We also honored FedEx, for their unwavering support over the years. Orbis Chief Pilot Gary Dyson and Director of Aircraft Operations Bruce Johnson presented an award to Justin Brownlee, FedEx Senior VP of Flight Operations and Orbis International Board member, celebrating their long-term commitment to strengthening eye care systems worldwide.
Finally, we paid tribute to one of Orbis’s founders, AL Ueltschi, who played an invaluable leadership role and helped to acquire all three generations of the Flying Eye Hospital with an award presented by Orbis Board Chair, John P. Howitt, to AL’s daughter, Anne Ueltschi.
On behalf of those now able to access quality eye care thanks to our programs, we extend a special thank you to all sponsors, including OMEGA, who donated a watch for auction, and an anonymous donor who matched all gifts during the gala up to $100,000.
