Nepalese patient Sharmila being tested for new glasses

Creating access to eye care for children like Sharmila

Limited access to quality eye care is a global issue that affects millions due to lack of transportation, inability to cover expenses or lack of education about where to receive help. Siblings Sharmila and Naveen were losing their sight due to severe cataracts, and the nearest hospital available for surgery was located in another city.

With support from Orbis, both children were able to make the journey and receive the care they needed. Sharmila and Naveen now have bright dreams for the future.
