Talent Relations Associate

The Talent Relations Associate will play a key role in driving the day-to-day execution of the recruitment strategy, while ensuring a best-in-class candidate experience. You'll conduct talent searches and provide logistical and administrative support to to attract, recruit, and on-board high performing and diverse talent for Orbis.

Your Role: As the Talent Relations Associate, you’ll conduct talent searches and provide logistical and administrative support to attract, recruit, and onboard high performing and diverse talent for our headquarters in NYC, our Flying Eye Hospital (FEH), and our affiliate office in Canada. You’ll play a key role in driving the day-to-day execution of the recruitment strategy, while ensuring a best-in-class candidate experience. Every so often, you’ll also get the opportunity to provide recruitment support to our teams across the world. You’ll work closely with the Associate Director, Talent Management to partner with Orbis hiring managers to support their hiring goals.

REPORTING & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Associate Director, Talent Management

Works with: You’ll collaborate closely with the members of the Global HR team and liaise with Orbis employees at headquarters in New York, Flying Eye Hospital (FEH), and with HR Liaisons in Orbis offices around the world.

Talent recruitment experience is a plus. Mostly, you have experiences with transferable skills that can help us attract and recruit diverse and quality talent.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

RECRUIT & ONBOARD

  • Source active and passive candidates to ensure a diverse and highly qualified talent pool.
  • Clearly articulate to external audiences Orbis’s mission, the work that we do, and the opportunities for amazing people to become an Orbite.
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment for a variety of roles within HQ, FEH, and Canada office and the occasional country office, including sourcing top talent, coordinating and conducting resume screens, scheduling and conducting initial interviews, organizing and participating in in-person interviews, conducting reference checks, and extending offers.
  • Thoughtfully provide a candidate experience reflective of Orbis’s culture and values.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to support them in hiring the right talent to fill their needs in the short and long term.
  • Facilitate the communication between hiring managers and staffing agencies when hiring temporary staff.
  • Deliver a high-quality onboarding to new Orbites so that they are set up for success by coordinating orientation sessions for new hires and tracking completion.
  • Collaborating with the Associate Director, Talent Management, and the Communications team, support the management of Orbis’s career pages on ADP, LinkedIn, and our website.
  • Identify areas for innovation to attract and recruit talent to Orbis and develop plans to implement those ideas.
  • Analyze and use data and metrics to help inform decisions to improve Orbis’s ability to attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent.
  • Collaborate with other members of the HR team to continually improve our work.
  • Process all recruitment related invoices, following up on billing inconsistencies and liaising with Accounts Payable and vendor representatives as needed.

ADMINISTRATION & LOGISTICS

  • Process all recruitment related invoices, following up on billing inconsistencies and liaising with Accounts Payable and vendor representatives as needed.
  • Manage the administrative processing and tracking of consultants and temporary staff.
  • Work with the HR team to ensure the department’s compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Support the Associate Director, Talent Management on projects as necessary.
  • Cross-train on the responsibilities of the HR Associate to be the backup when necessary.
