In 2023, the Flying Eye Hospital will return to the skies for in-person, patient-focused projects to restore sight and train eye care professionals around the globe. The first stop: Can Tho, Vietnam, for a 3-week project in May 2023.

About the Plane
Orbis’s Flying Eye Hospital is unlike any other plane you’ve seen. It’s a state-of-the-art medical teaching facility—with an on-board operating room, classroom, and recovery room.
The Flying Eye Hospital is not only packed with the most advanced medical equipment available; it has cutting-edge training facilities, too. On board, Orbis offers simulation training using virtual reality and other technologies. This allows eye care professionals to build their skills and confidence before performing live surgeries.
In-person training is further augmented by Cybersight, Orbis’s award-winning telemedicine and e-learning platform, in a hybrid model. Using Cybersight, participants can begin their education before the plane arrives and continue it after it leaves—so they can always access training and deliver the best possible patient care, no matter what.
