Looking ahead, our partnership will ramp up eye care in low- to middle-income countries through the provision of school-based screenings, and by training eye care professionals via our award-winning telemedicine and e-learning platform, Cybersight.
With HOYA’s generous support, we’ll be able to screen half a million children, and provide more than 15,000 glasses as part of our REACH (Refractive Error Among Children) project in India. REACH also refers children for further examination and treatment where needed.
HOYA already made a remarkable impact on this project during the COVID-19 pandemic when they provided crucial funding to help the Orbis India team transition to door-to-door screenings when school-based screenings could not take place.
