We are currently looking for an Education, Quality and Safety Manager

Orbis International has been one of the world’s leading non-profit organisations dedicated to the improvement of eye health globally since it was founded in 1982.  Programmes and projects are implemented in Asia, Africa and Latin America. 

This role provides operational guidance in the area of education, quality and safety, including clinical excellence in a contextually appropriate manner across Africa. S/he will cover three main areas. First s/he will be responsible for ensuring that the educational processes designed for programme have been produced in collaboration with key stakeholders, meet the needs of the multidisciplinary team required to deliver the programme aims and that this is monitored appropriately. Second s/he will be responsible for ensuring that programme activity delivers high quality and safe services. Thirdly s/he will be responsible for ensuring that a process of locally appropriate procurement is used.

Reporting to the Director of Programme Orbis Europe, Middle East and Africa s/he will works closely with the programme staff in Africa and in partnership and collaboration across the global organisation to develop tools and strategies to deliver high quality education, promote safety and aid procurement. In particular s/he will collaborate with the Global Medical Director with regards to education, quality and safety.

Salary: Depending on location

Location:  Cape Town, South Africa or Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The candidate must have the right to live in Cape Town or in Addis Ababa if external to Orbis.
