What could be a better Christmas gift than the gift of sight?
Hi everyone. As many of you know, my name is Andrew and I’m a freshman at Loyola College in Maryland. With the holidays fast approaching, I’ve been thinking about how I can do something to make the holiday season even more meaningful this year. I decided to help make a difference in the world by raising funds to help people in the developing world.
I recently learned that there are 37 million blind people in the world and that 28 million of them suffer needlessly. Their blindness could have been prevented or treated.
ORBIS is a nonprofit organization fighting preventable blindness in developing countries, where 90 percent of the blind reside. ORBIS is a great organization, and your money will go directly to saving people's vision. Imagine having been blind and being able to see the world again!
