If you aren't  sure what you want to do to support us, this list of ideas is sure to inspire you.

1. Coffee morning
   This is a favourite of our supporters because it's easy to organise and can be a success with just a few people or a couple hundred. As well as charging people for coffee and tea, you can also sell biscuits and cakes to boost your fundraising total even further.
   
   
2. Dress-down day
   Persuade your work colleagues or your teachers to have a dress-down day in which everyone can wear casual clothes for the day for a fee, with the money going to ORBIS. You may decide to take the more wacky approach and ask people to come in wearing fancy dress or costume. 
   
   
3. Sponsored event
   You can get sponsored for nearly anything. For example, try a sponsored walk, a sponsored silence, a sponsored sit-in-a-bath-of-baked beans for the day, a sponsored football match, a sponsored "give up chocolate for a month"; a sponsored marathon ... the list is endless! 4. Car boot sale/jumble sale
   This is a great way to clear out your clutter and raise money for ORBIS at the same time. You can even ask your friends and neighbours to donate items for sale. 
   
   
5. Public collection
   If you don't have time to organise anything or you hesitate to ask family and friends for sponsorship, why not donate a few hours of your time and hold a public collection? Please call 020 7608 7260 or email us to order your collection box. This a great idea because you'll be raising funds and raising awareness at the same time. Public collections are subject to certain guidelines, though.
   
   
6. Raffle
   Raffles are a terrific way to raise money for charity and are very popular among our supporters. You can hold one at school, at work, during a party, or at your local sports club ... whenever and wherever, they are always great fun! Increase the amount you raise by asking local companies, hotels, attractions and restaurants if they would donate a prize for your raffle. This way every penny you raise will go straight to ORBIS. Raffles are subject to certain guidelines, though. 
   
   
7. Party
   What better excuse to let your hair down and party than raising money for a good cause? You could hold a disco, a dinner party, a garden party, a fancy dress party, a Halloween party ... whatever takes your fancy!  All you have to do is charge people to come, with the proceeds going to ORBIS. You could even hold a raffle at the party to increase your fundraising total. Many of our supporters hold a birthday party or anniversary celebration and, instead of asking for presents, ask their guests to make a donation to ORBIS.
   
   
8. Quiz
   You can hold a quiz at your local pub, church, community group, school or sports club. You can even ask local businesses to donate a prize for the winner. It's so much fun for everyone involved, and thinking of the questions can be a pleasure in itself!
   
   
9. Holy Book read
   This is an idea that a group of our supporters came up with that proved to be very successful.They held a 24-hour read-a-thon of the Bible in their church. People offered to read for 20 minutes at a time to make up the 24 hours, and asked their friends to sponsor them for doing so. This is a great idea that can be done with any religious book -- or any book at all.
   
   
10. Homemade items for sale
    If you're feeling creative, you can always make something and sell it to your friends and family, with proceeds going to ORBIS. What you make is completely up to you. You can paint pots, make jewellery, craft homemade cards -- whatever you enjoy doing. Many supporters make their own Christmas cards and then donate to ORBIS the amount they would have spent on shop-bought cards.
