As ORBIS's first global sponsor, FedEx has supported the organisation since 1982 through in-kind contributions and facilitating medical shipments to ORBIS programmes throughout the world.

Although FedEx is ORBIS's primary aviation sponsor, the FedEx role has expanded over the years. It now includes donating the services of a full-time aircraft maintenance technician and volunteer pilots to keep the Flying Eye Hospital running.
