Orbis encourages charitable donations of stock and mutual funds.

By donating appreciated securities, you may be able to avoid capital gains taxes and make a larger gift at a lower original cost. As a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, Orbis can sell stocks or mutual funds without tax consequences.

Kiplinger's financial website has more information to help you decide whether it is better to donation stock or cash to charity. The Motley Fool also has general information on charitable contributions of stock. Please always consult your own tax planner or financial advisor before making such donations.

Follow these steps to make a gift:

If your financial services provider holds securities (including mutual funds) for your account, ask that the securities be electronically transferred to the following broker where Orbis (a.k.a. "Project Orbis International") has an active account:

• For the Benefit of: Project Orbis International, Inc.
• Orbis Account Number: C32082031
• Broker DTC Number: 0443

The gift is complete on the date that the stock is instructed to be transferred to the Orbis broker. The value of your gift will be the mean value of the stock on the transfer instruction date.

Please notify us as soon possible, making sure to include your name and contact information, so we can track your gift and thank you as soon as possible.

United Airlines

Whenever you fly United or on a Star Alliance carrier, ask to credit your earned miles to your Mileage Plus account. Star Alliance carriers can be found here.

To donate miles:

• Login to your mileage plus account
• Or call United at 1.800.421.4655 and request that your miles be transferred into Orbis’s charity miles account

Each donation should be a minimum of 1,000 miles.

Asia Miles

To donate your Asia Miles to Orbis:

• Log into your account
• Click on 'manage your miles'

You can donate an unlimited number of miles. However, each donation must be at least 10,000 miles, with further increments of 5,000 miles.
